Skin Deep

Skin Deep is a site (run by the EWG) that provides information about popular health and beauty products and their safety ratings. It’s a rather frightening eye-opener—many of the products I use regularly are either owned by companies who test on animals (who knew that St. Ives was owned by Alberto-Culver?) or contain harmful ingredients that pose a cancer risk. I’m not an alarmist, but I know what I want to spend my money on, and this ain’t it. I think I’ll look into Burt’s Bees products, or start making my own stuff.
