Everyone is kneaded out of the same dough but not baked in the same oven.

Cast
Blog
Since this is my journal, I tend to keep it tightly focused on me, and I’m pretty particular about not mentioning my friends or family unless I’ve received their express permission to do so. Still, I think that every public journal should have a cast list, just to introduce the reader to the main characters. And trust me, there are some real characters in this list…
Current
Romy
Your humble diarist. More about me here.
Enjoys: Reading, writing, car rides, Renaissance art, Hawaii Five-O, squirrels
Tony
My husband since 2002, and my co-conspirator in all my evil schemes. He has a personal blog at unvmeSir.com.
Enjoys: calculators, politics, The Sopranos, anarchistic philosophy, Napoleon Bonaparte, making macaroni
Aged P
My mother, the Aged Parent, who lives across the hall from us. She’s very short, very smart, very liberal, and very weird. Seriously, if you think I’m insane, you haven’t talked to her yet…
Enjoys: bad horror movies, dark chocolate, Masterpiece Theatre.
Piper Maru
The feline companion. Small and penguin-like. First came into our lives as a stray who lived in a K-Mart parking lot with her four kittens. Named after an X-Files episode, which was named after Gillian Anderson’s daughter. Not too sharp, but sweet as can be.
Enjoys: belly rubs, sleeping on my chest, anything hard and crinkly
Past
Charlie
The Mr. T of the rabbit world, who put paid to the idea that rabbits can’t be macho. (But he was a real softie on the inside, of course.)
Enjoyed: flirting with the cat, throwing things around, being kissed on the nose
Died in June 2005.
Herbie (The Gerbie)
Our ferocious little black speck of a gerbil. We never really figured out what gender Herbie was, but we thought it was a girl.
Enjoyed: burrowing, cat-teasing
Died in June 2004.
Louise
The little rat. Came into our home (along with her sister Thelma) as a gift from a co-worker. She was the brains of the duo, masterminding the Great Escape and the Oreo Caper.
Enjoyed: playing in my hair, wrestling with her sister, hoarding food, lurking
Died in January 2005.
Thelma
The big rat. Not as bright as her sister, but more gentle, sweet-natured and affectionate. The Pinky to Louise’s Brain.
Enjoyed: swinging on her trapeze perch, watching TV, rearranging her nest
Died in March 2004.
The Widget
A… well, we’re not really sure. Found at Tony’s workplace, where he rescued it from being trampled underfoot / thrown outside to freeze to death. Freakishly fearless for such a little thing.
Enjoyed: cardboard tubes, people, human voices, peanuts, tissues
