Microsoft Word Meets One-Cat Death Squad

May 14, 2005

Wow. Friday the 13th really is unlucky, apparently. I got my latest correspondence course lesson back yesterday, and... geeyagh. The grade wasn’t low, but it was low for me. And the worst part about it? It wasn’t so much my fault as it was Microsoft Word’s. Of course, I should know how to operate Word correctly by this time, so it’s still my fault. My stupidity will be my downfall.

Okay, enough whining. Did I get tears on your shirt? Sorry. Club soda’ll take that right out.

On a lighter note, I just had a conversation with my mother, who is currently tutoring a student about the Guatemalan death squads:

Mom: My cat is evil. Yesterday, while I was tutoring, she sat at the table and tried to eat all the papers on it. She jumped on every paper my student passed me across the table. Now all my papers have little toothmarks in them.
Romy: Your cat is the devil.
Mom: Yeah, she is. She’s a one-cat death squad.

[pause]

Romy: That is so my new favorite band name.

And this is only a few weeks after my mother informed me that her cat was afraid of parades, prompting the immediate creation of a fictional band called Fear The Parade.
