Kidnapped

In this two-part adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s adventure tale, young Scotsman Davy Balfour is dragged (kicking and screaming) into an adventure that spans the high seas and the Highlands, with a rakish Jacobite as his guide. Swordfights, sneakery, and slashiness about—oh, the glorious slashiness!

Too bad young Davy doesn’t fully appreciate the suggestive dialogue and the squirm-inducing tussles with the ever-delectable Iain Glen. This series is a perfect example of what a Masterpiece Theatre costume drama should be: well-written, well-acted, and visually appealing. And slashy!
