Without Feathers

1. You’re on a date with Cho Chang when she suddenly bursts into tears and runs off. You:
    sulk, mutter curses and scowl to make sure no one comes near you.
    run after her and comfort her; she’s probably remembering Cedric again.
    talk to Hermione; she’ll tell you what’s going on.
    wonder what’s wrong with her—was it something you said?

2. Draco’s making nasty comments again. You:
    whip out your wand and jinx him to kingdom come.
    skip the wand (you’re too mad to jinx straight) and pummel him senseless.
    step aside and let Hermione to jinx him for you; she’s much better at that sort of thing.
    try to jinx him, but screw it up and accidentally turn Ron into a gerbil instead.

3. Snape is giving Neville Longbottom a hard time in class. You:
    watch Hermione stand up for Neville and support her under your breath.
    stand up for Neville yourself (it’s worth the week’s detention).
    stand up and yell at him; no one talks to your friends like that!
    accidentally distract Snape with your own dumb mistake. Whoops...

4. Ouch! Your scar is throbbing again. You:
    try to ignore it; it probably doesn’t mean anything...
    go off to find out what Voldemort’s doing; maybe you can stop him yourself.
    ask your friends and teachers for advice; they’ll know what to do.
    yell at your friends and go off for a sulk. They don’t know what it’s like...

5. The school term is over; time to return to the Dursleys. You:
    square your shoulders, stiffen your lip and face it like a man.
    sulk. Why do you have to stay with them while your friends are having fun?
    take the Knight Bus as far away from them as possible. (You’ll just spend the summer at a hotel.)
    wait for a letter from one of your friends; maybe they’ll invite you to stay with them...
